Chilling / Draining the wort / Clean up...

The boil is done so now the wort needs
to be chilled quickly.  Here an
immersion chiller is used re-circulating
back to an HLT filled with blocks of ice
(made from freezing water in
Tupperware).
Once chilled, it’s time to drain the
wort……(you’ll have to tilt your head to
the left…).
Here is a picture of the kettle on it’s
side with what is left behind after the
boil.  This is from an Imperial IPA…
Combo of pellet and whole hops.  You
can see the “cold break” that is left
behind.
The kettle can also be removed for
dumping and cleaning…. Just like at
the beginning of the batch, the sprayer
and re-circulating pump can be used..
